Truck Sized Asteroid

On Truck Sized Asteroid, Thea takes a few steps further in embracing her inner crooner, inspired by Irish folk music from her childhood, her English upbringing, and a writing trip to the Faroe Islands surrounded by sea and green cliffs.

"The album title came from hearing the news one day that an asteroid the size of a truck was headed toward Earth, but it didn’t hit us. It’s about the divide between the fear of everything that could happen and what actually happens. What is scarier, reality or imagination? None of us can stop an asteroid from hitting. We have to influence where we can and keep living in the meantime. Do things we’re afraid to do, find love. I’m the type who worries a lot about things, things that might never happen, so this asteroid is a good metaphor for that."

Thematically, the album revolves around power and powerlessness, mental health, hormones, women's health, and being pulled between different roles: the role of woman, mother, lover, artist, and other relationships. Musically, we move in an analog soundscape, a mix of alternative pop-rock with a sprinkle of stardust from out there in space.
